Damien Coulthard X Alkina Wines
Alkina wines and Damien Coulthard are tremendously proud of this trio of wines. With the addition of the 2020 Birdsong, our trilogy of Damien Coulthard labels is complete.
Alkina wines is a new story on an old place. Join our journey through ancient stones and soils, organic/biodynamic viticulture, small scale winemaking and the creation of unique micro-terroir wines, all grown and made on our estate in the Western Barossa.

“Damien Coulthard is an Adnyamathanha man from the Northern Flinders and Gammon Ranges in South Australia; a sacred place of immense social and environmental significance to the Adnyamathanha people.
Damien’s paintings share family narratives that have existed for millennia, embedded in the Yarta (diverse landscapes) as a record and reminder for all diversities and identities of the unique and continuous - spiritual and cultural connection Aboriginal people have to Country.”
Damien is also co-founder of Warndu along with Rebecca Sullivan and Siobhan O’Toole.
◎ 2021 Kin Wild Earth – a field white blend of Semillon, Riesling and Ugni Blanc co-fermented on skins in a Georgian qvevri for 9 months. Release date March 2022
◎ 2020 Kin Night Sky – formerly the ‘Field Red’, this blend of Grenache (45%), Shiraz (45%) and Mataro (10%) is from different parts of the vineyard. This year it really is a baby Old Quarter in style and quality. Only 110 dozen bottled. Available now.
◎ 2020 Kin Birdsong – a new wine blended from three important sources - Old Quarter, Polygon 1 (declassified in 2020), and Polygon 14 (the clay area of the Spice Garden block). 100% Shiraz and largely fermented and matured in concrete and amphora. Such a special wine for us…also only about 100 dozen bottled. Available now.
