Bush Botanical Seeds - Saltbush

A sprinkle of Saltbush seeds for your garden or pots. This little envelope contains Indigenous grown Saltbush seeds.

Saltbush is not just delicious, its also nutritious too and a valuable source of protein.  A fun little gift for a friend or for yourself ;).

How to Use

Simply soak the seeds overnight and plant them in trays or pots filled with seed-raising mix. Water regularly to keep the soil moist and be patient, as germination can take up to 4–6 weeks. Alternatively, take semi-hardwood cuttings 8–10cm long and insert the base into a propagating mix, i.e., a mix of potting mix and sand. Position in a warm spot and water regularly to keep soil moist. Once established, old man saltbush is drought tolerant. However, it will benefit from an occasional deep watering during hot, dry spells.Feed in spring with a slow-release native fertiliser if needed.

A huge number of seeds come from the flowering after spring and autumn and they are like little salty popcorn kernels, but were also ground and mixed with water to make dough cooked in coals.

Can't wait to grow it, you can buy Saltbush ready grown, dried and packaged with love and lemon myrtle by us or get the worlds best Australian Native Salt and Pepper.

Our products are all made in Australia from 100% locally sourced, seasonal and wild harvested produce.

Warndu means good in the Adnyamathanha language.

Our mission is to REGENERATE culture, community, tradition, health and our soils. Every product we make includes one or more Australian Native ingredients.

In our efforts to be zero waste and plastic free, and with the changes to recycling in Australia, we will be phasing out all plastic bags. For now you may receive your spices, teas and home products in either black, white or clear plastic, and once that is all gone our amazing new compostable plant-based packaging will be what you will receive products in.
Thanks for your patience and understanding whilst we endeavour to tread lightly on your yarta (land).

To maintain Warndu taste we keep smaller quantities on hand of our Australian Natives, it takes us a little while to dry, roast or grind them to make. We aim to send all orders within ten days of receiving them.
